Every episode of The Long Way Round is recorded in a converted wardrobe in Bristol. It is about the size of a phone box, and it sounds better than most studios we have hired.
What is in the box
- Two dynamic microphones on short desk stands
- A small audio interface and closed headphones
- A thick wool rug, two moving blankets and a full bookshelf on the back wall
- A kettle, just outside the door
Guests who visit in person sit knee to knee with Maya. Guests who join remotely record their own side on their phone, and we stitch the two together afterwards.
