Folio is an independent journal of essays, reviews and field notes, written slowly and published when they are ready. There is no schedule, no advertising and no tracking: just writing we care about, set in type we hope you enjoy reading.
What we publish
- Essays on reading, writing, craft and the habits of attention.
- Reviews of books, music and places, mostly old ones worth another look.
- Field notes: short dispatches from walks, gardens and ordinary weeks.
Who we are
Folio is written by Avery Quinn, a former book designer, and Jules Moreno, who teaches music and keeps an allotment. We both live in a mid-sized city by a river we can now, finally, point to on a map.
