Colophon

Abstract illustration: a black letterform, a terracotta bar and a pale circle sitting on a ruled baseline.

A colophon is the note at the back of a book that records how it was made. Here is ours.

Type

Headings are set in Newsreader and body text in Source Serif 4, with Inter for small labels. All three are open-source typefaces released under the SIL Open Font License, and all three are served from this site.

Design

The site runs on WordPress with the Folio theme. Colours come from its Paper palette, with a dark mode for evening reading. Every colour pair is checked for WCAG AA contrast.

Images

Illustrations are abstract artwork made for this journal; no stock photography was harmed.
