What we’re reading this autumn

Books on the studio shelf this season, from typography classics to essays on cities, craft and slowness.

The studio library has outgrown its shelf again. Here is what the team has been reading — and arguing about over lunch — this season.

On the shelf

  • The Elements of Typographic Style by Robert Bringhurst — Clara’s annual re-read.
  • The Death and Life of Great American Cities by Jane Jacobs — required reading before any wayfinding project.
  • The Craftsman by Richard Sennett — on the value of doing a thing well for its own sake.
  • Thinking with Type by Ellen Lupton — the book we give every new intern.

If you have a book that changed how you work, we would love to hear about it. Our shelf can always take one more.
