Our story

A quiet room in a loud city.

Stillpoint is a small, independent yoga studio. We started with one borrowed room and a simple idea: practice should feel like an exhale, not another appointment to rush.

How it began

Maya Linden

Founder & lead teacher

One room, six mats and a kettle.

Stillpoint began in 2016 in a borrowed room above a bakery. Maya had spent years teaching in busy gyms and wanted somewhere slower: a place where classes start on time, end gently, and nobody is hurried out of the door.

Word travelled the way it does in a neighbourhood. A friend brought a friend, and one Tuesday class became three. Today we have three light-filled studios, a team of six teachers and a timetable that still makes room for rest.

Nobody should have to hurry through their own practice.

Maya Linden

We keep classes small, teachers consistent and prices fair. Whether you come every morning or twice a year, you will be greeted by name and given all the time you need.

What we value

Small promises, kept daily

Three things guide every class, every teacher and every cup of tea after practice.

01

Unhurried

Classes start on time and end gently. There is always room to rest, and nobody is rushed out of the door.

02

For every body

Every pose has an option, every prop is free and every question is welcome. Come exactly as you are.

03

Rooted locally

We are a neighbourhood studio: local teachers, local makers and a pay-what-you-can class every Sunday.

The space

Light, wood and quiet

Three light-filled studios with warm oak floors, soft props for every body and windows that open onto the trees.

The people in the room

Every teacher here trained for hundreds of hours, and every one of them still takes class. It shows in how they hold the room.

Come as you are

Your mat is waiting.

Bring nothing but yourself. We will have a mat, a blanket and a quiet spot ready.
